There have been countless EKG studies done on people dreaming and having hallucinations (AKA schizophrenia or drug induced) and in every case the EKG clearly shows that while dreaming or hallucinating the brain is very active. The brain in many NDE that happen wile in the OR and hooked up to EKG equipment clearly showed that the brain was in fact flat lined at this time therefore could not have been the source of the experiences. A brain with no electric activity produces nothing.

I agree with you mostly...but I had an NDE experience where i saw the exact same thing as this girl( minus the out of body experience and flashing of Life before eyes). That is, I was in a kind of space where i was moving towards this "Light" with a feeling of intense, euphoric unconditional, love. The classic "Tunnel" experience. The fact, that their are a lot of other people who have experienced the exact same thing. I think, we should not simply discount. There Is More To It.

This actually made me cry...I was in ICU when I was 17 with my body shutting down, and her story reminded me of a moment I had during my illness. When she says to her mom, "I'm pretty bad huh?" Then her mother cries brought back a moment between my mother, and I during my illness even though it was much different. My mother was crying because of the stress of it all, and I said, "I'm going to die aren't I?" Then we both cried our eyes out.

theres too many inconsistencies in why its probably not hallucinatory. for example, why do these NDE's see all/most dead people in hallucinations. How do they see things the couldnt possibly know in several cases. How do these vivid, descriptive "worlds" create themselves when brain is shut off. Why is the theme ALWAYS "love" instead of other "feelings".

Even if you discount 1/2 of all NDE's as false or exaggerated, the commonality in the real ones are always similar/same generally.
