Just wait until you have a family and are nearly run into a bridge underpass by some fool who thinks he owns the road. It's easy to criticize someone else when the issue is theoretical, but when it comes knocking at your own door, it's a different matter altogether.

Not at all. It's a very real point, and will remain so until people like this begin to think about the welfare of others instead of just themselves. You may have grown out of your myopic childishness, but there are plenty of other people out there who have no consideration for the other people on the road, and they remain a danger the rest of us shouldn't be forced to put up with.
