  • this isnt 2000. horneck wasnt playing then

  • Yes it is, Horny retired at the end of the 2000 season.

His final game was the game 5 loss to Portland in the second round.

  • Damn Malone had to be 37 or 36 - he scored 40 points when he was 39 years old! The guy was one of the best in the league, a machine.

  • Malone was a beast.

  • @atiacer is it was the 99-00 season. SOnics-jazz season, the sonics lost in 5 games (3-2) great series, really underrated. The 2 games in seattle were fabolous

  • too bad malone never got a ring

  • @MCGigahertz YESSSSSSSSSSSSS that's the game i'm talking about! You remember the almost half court 3 at the end? Wow, yes, that was classical GP...remember Vin Baker grabbing GP's jersey after he had another 3 in John stockton's face. Great unsung series, game 5 was a tough one too, I WISH I COULD FIND GAME 4 AND 5. @mcgigahertz if you do, let me know!

  • @bossu3konn I wish I could find video from game 4 on here... In addition to getting Malone ejected, I seem to remember Sloan getting ejected and Stockton getting a technical as well. And the cold blooded 3 at the buzzer when they already had the game won was just classic GP.

  • I think the rule changes have remade Steve Nash's career. Old style, 90s defense and I don't think he's an elite PG.

As far as KG, I seriously think the tragedy of his career might be the fact he came out of high school.

Despite not having too much wear as far as heavy playoff burn (something that seems to kill many great players), Garnett looks like he's pushing forty instead of being just over 30.

He's got a lot of mileage on him.

I wonder if the same thing isn't happening to Kobe.

  • @sunshinebutmorerain I agree. Although we've seen some recent cases with guys like steve nash, who actually seems to get better with age, it's highly unlickly that these two guys will stay in that elite group much longer. Health is a big concern and that's why Duncan still puts up impressive numbers and Garnett doesn't.

  • All those guys are early thirties now -- and worse than Malone at 36.

No way are they going to be anywhere near Malone when they're that age.

  • Yeah, many people forget that he was up in age already at that time, but was still one of the leagues best players in his late 30s. A lot of his success throughout his career was a result of his incredible work ethic that made him improve at stay in tip top shape even toward the end of his NBA years. I don't see guys like Dancan, Nowitzki or Garnett being that good once they reach that age.

  • RIP Sonics

  • No round 1 went to 7 games in 2003

  • the point number 50 was traveling -.-

  • where can i find the full game???

    pls guys help me!

  • im pretty sure the series were best out of 7?

  • i think jordan broke his record 2 years ago by scoring 53

  • this was past his prime but he was still good

  • "Hornacek's no look circus shot " i remmeber that one! and Hornacek would make those look so eassy.

  • REAL APPRECIATE FOR THE 50, BRO.

  • The way they started scheduling playoff series for tv viewing that year did some bad things to momentum. I think the Sonics and Jazz had 5 days off between 2 and 3.

  • in Game 3 and 4 Gary Payton took over, Vin Baker got solid games, and the sonics got a chance to win game 5 in Utah. Too bad this series is remembered only for Malone's 50. GP got his best series ever, notching a triple double in an amazing game 4, where he got Malone ejected after a trash talk challenge. At the end of the game he also scored on a half court 3 pointer and made it look simple. NBA at his best...the vintage challenges

  • i hope dir s a full game n dis vid

  • I do remember watching this. Malone was the oldest human being to ever score 50. Another little known fact was that Ostertag broke a Utah Jazz franchise record for blocks in this game. The first two games of this series looked like a Jazz sweep all the way. Malone's 50 in game 1 and the incredibly high percentage in game 2 with Hornacek's no look circus shot that made every highlight reel. But the Sonics fought back. The headlines read "Sweepless in Seattle"

  • same!!

  • One of my alltime favorite players. just a great guy on and of the court. His physical shape was incredible. Just bought his fitness video..now I understand why he was in such a good shape
