Yea Inoki was really knoecked out by that Axe Bomber but it did have some controversy. he was knocked out but some people think that he took a dive because the Yakuza wanted hogan to win. which suspends the notion that he took a dive because he really was knocked out.
I'm going to end this argument right now. Yes, pro wrestling is scripted and therefore fake, especially in the US. However, in Japan especially when this match took place a lot of the striking, punching, and submission moves were real. It's a well known fact that Hulk Hogan legitimately knocked out Antonio Inoki with a lariat in a match. So there.
You're partly correct....All Pro-Wrestling, irregardless of the country, is PREDETERMINED!!! True, al ot of the moves/holds/counterholds are aplied for entertainment purposes only (i.e., to get the crowd to react), however, those same moves, if not applied right, can and will injure the wrestler(s). In Japan, wrestling is treated more like a sport. That doesn't mean that today's wrestlers can't wrestle in a style similar to this match. Simply put, MMA and Wrestling are from the same roots.
It would be a sport if there is no scripted acting and theater in it.While this match hasnt got any, many of today's Wrestling Promotions(e.g.WWE,TNA ) use storytelling and scripted fights. This pretty much destroyed this otherwise awesome sport. The original TigerMask retired while he's on top of his game, because he's sick from behind-the-scenes politics. Its only enough to see wrestling now to know how far these "politics" went today. hows this match's result legit after what happened @2:12?
