i live in belgium...8 of the victims are from here....i cleary remember when it came on tv and how my parents prohibited me to play outside ever again :/

I know what you mean... I live in Belgium too. I can remember it clearly as well, I was scared all the time that year:( I was just a 6 year old girl then and then you look at the tv and omg the news! I also remember that everyone in my class(1st grade) had a white ribbon around his backbage. And then a couple of years ago... it happend again:(!

i read about what happened to Julie Lejeune and Mélissa Russo. and how they died. it was so distressing that i was in tears. i pray for every one of these, even the survivors. and natalee holloway was declared officially dead even though she was never ever found - reading this on wiki, it was heartbreaking. she vanished and is never found again. then you have Elisabeth Fritzl - she was the first sort of captivity case i paid attention to, i still think about her many years on. bless them all :'(

thanks so much for posting. I am a mother of three and worried sick about all these predators out there. Sometimes I think think this world is really perverted and sick. Who would do something so horrible to children? I am not religious, but I hope that the culprits burn in hell for eternity!! Keep our kids safe!!

I just finished reading Sarbine Dardenne's book I choose to live and I have never felt such sympathy towards these young girls and for a 12 year old girl mysef, I learnt a lot about bravory and survival and I'm always very careful now
