  • @hanseykemmerer depends on you MOS your unit and your superiors. It's not as much yelling as boot, but theres alot more punishment when you screw up because your supposed to be more mature than a recruit. combat jobs have it tough artillery and grunts in general get it the worst.

  • Anyone here a Marine, I want to know if you're constantly still told what to do after boot camp and SOI or MCT, or is it alot more laid back and like a job?

  • PART3 since I had ring mount on my 923 truck. I look back on that experience and say. All of the recruit films are true you will do more in your life during your enlistment than ever do in the civilian world. Honestly, since I've been out 20 years I've kind of digressed back to civilian, but those days were the best days of my life. I don't think I'd be alive today without the help of the Corps & taught me alot. Make the best of it. P.S. I still remeber my trucks serial number 530038. MEMORIES.

  • PART2 things at that time were changing. We were phasing out the old viet nam era equipment an doctrine. Even MCMAP wasn't realy called that yet, but I was part of it's infantcy which later became MCMAP. my comparison between the 2 commadants was this B4 Gen Grey (sp? been 20yrs) I was just a 3531 after Gen Grey I got more liscenses on vehicles and was able to haul Explosives and Ammo under the age of 21 Plus I was trained and effcient with M-60 ALL versions and M2 .50 cal.

  • I in was from 86-90 I went to mcrd san diego in 86' when Gen Anderson was still Commadant, so I was sent to camp del mar for motor-t training. It wasn't until 87 when Gen Gray took over and change the doctrine at that time i was in 22nd mssg of the 22nd MAU (which changed to MEU) then in rotation support platoons of 22nd mssg was sent to camp Gieger at that time it was ITS (infantry training school) we did a 2 week crash course with 3rd batt. 6th Marines whoam we supported in 22nd meu.

  • @BroTalkComedy SUCKER!!!! At least, if you had to join, it was the Corps.
