A variation on the one-legged squat, with the rear leg elevated on a bench or step. Good for building unilateral (one-sided) lower body strength and balance. Add resistance with barbell (across traps) or dumbbells (held at sides). Also good for improving mobility in the front of the hips; the higher the platform, the greater the stretch in the front of the hip.
