@1110Gerard My mother was the same. Total nuts; but had no cent ... I understand why she was this way (very sick). For me you don't have anything to explain, cuz I know it and thehorrible feelings are in my memory. You can't explain this to a person who didn't make this experience (amny can't believe it, cuz it's so far away from their own experiences)- and those who have experienced this or similar, need no explanation.

IT was wrong not leaving anything Christina and Christopher, okay who is the monster Joan is sorry im not a fan

Christopher Crawford, the adopted son of actress Joan Crawford died of cancer at age 62. ....Hope he found peace!
BTW:
Christopher waived any rights to the book and movie, "Mommie Dearest" for $10,000. Christopher was also left out of Joan Crawford's will. Christopher contested the will and received $27,500.

I wonder how much Christina was paid for this Tv special!?
-
I agree: Christina wrote the book to get revenge for being left out of the will.
Sad fans of Joan like me are fighting to show she was not a monster but a great actress!

Joan left a wonderful history of films, the problem is that only film buffs appreciate her legacy while the public only remembers Christina Crawford's book,"Mommie Dearest." As beautiful & talented as Joan was, she was simply too selfish and never should have adopted children. Society brainwashes people into thinking that they must have kids even if they don't want them.

i well known her 2 kids got boned

@rehpotsirhc21 that's wrong! she was worth 2 million in 74 and u leave your children nothing? thats a bad mother
I think Christina wrote the book to get revenge for being left out of the will. Joan gave the majority of her money to charity. She never wanted her children to be spoiled and insisted they did not grow up Hollywood brats
