artificial inflation allows an economy to be competitive in the marketplace by raising inflation to a degree that does not hurt goods or services but allows the economy to grow at a faster rate stopping before things get out of hand

@alex134219 The Roman government fell for many reasons, not simply their currency. It was also the currency that brought them to such a place of power that we can still use them as a reference a millennia and some odd centuries later. If you have gold, then you have money, the gold is what's valuable. All our dollar was is a certificate stating that it represented an amount of gold held in the National Treasury. The dollar now does not relate to anything, I can't fake not having gold.

@alex134219 OK, I'm done trying to discuss economics and world politics with a bronie. Fact is many world governments have done it in the past to try to help the people, but it's always backfired. Id Est, the Weimar Republic in Germany (around 1920). If you want to talk about the issues instead of casting off strange general insults, please enlighten me to how artificial inflation is helping the economy.

@alex134219 I'd prefer the Gold Standard. Not a Fiat system where the government can print money at leisure. Too much of a chance for someone to do something detrimental.
