Cold start of my new Mercedes :D

UPDATE: Did some research and it turns out that I am the second owner of this car. I don't ever plan on letting it go, but I've had people stop me on the street and ask if I would ever consider selling it. If you're lucky enough to have a solid example of one of these cars, would you let it go? Nah...

  • Are repairs pretty pricey for these old mercedes?

  • @ibold1000 I can attest that having repairs professionally done can run you a few pesos. If you're mechanically inclined, it would definitely be a lot cheaper to do maintenance yourself. Are you looking to buy one?

  • @blinkfan305 Yeah i have been looking around. are there some things you should check before buying?

  • @ibold1000 @ibold1000 It would be ideal if you find one close to home that you can go look at yourself. Buying a car sight unseen may bring you unwelcome surprises later down the road. I was lucky with mine. You'll want to check it over for rust very carefully, check for fluid leaks, and if possible, get copies of service records. There are a lot of things I could list here, but my advice is check out Mercedessource or PeachParts. Both are excellent sources of information on these cars.

  • are you kidding! This was the best car ever made!!!

  • @flashhflood Exactly the reason I bought one. The weird marble sound that you hear has since been fixed. I should post another startup video.

  • @blinkfan305 thanks for the tips man!

  • @Sethwm2 I don't remember, to be honest. I just had my mechanic cut the belt that drove the compressor to stop the noise, then I had the whole system serviced a couple months ago. The only issues I'm having now are the middle vents being stuck closed, and the compressor won't disengage when I switch between a/c and economy.

  • @blinkfan305 My A/c works fine and it makes that same sound at start-up.. but it seems as though as the car warms up it goes away.. was that the same case for you?

  • @Sethwm2 Mechanic said it was from the A/C compressor.

  • @blinkfan305 What exactly did that marble sound at start-up turn out to be?

  • theres no better, more reliable car.. :) gotta 240D -83
