After you have Line 1 set up, make sure your default recording device in FME is set to Line 1 (Virtual Audio Cable). If you're ripping music with Audacity, navigate to Preferences under Edit, Devices, and in the recording box, select Line 1.

Windows XP Users, please do some research on Stereo Mix. Information on how to use it is everywhere :)

  • What would I do if I just wanted to filter out skype so the stream could not hear it?

  • @soulja234 Make sure that the Audio output in your Skype settings is going directly to your speakers or headphones, and NOT in Lines 1 or 2.

  • I have one question: if I mute my Laptop, will the audio still get played (livestreamed)? I'd prefer to not have sound coming out of the Laptop since I already have it out the TV.

But then I wonder if doing that also mutes the sound to the livestream. I hope there is a workaround if it does.

  • @k0d14k1 The 'physical' volume will not effect the signal at all. You can definitely turn the laptop volume down :)

  • I'm trying to figure out how to get sound output through hdmi connected to my tv and my usb sony wireless headphones, still on the trial version.

  • Thank you very much! This is the only way I've been able to record my Let's Plays decently once again using Hypercam 2 and getting in-game sound and mic sound all at once with Windows 7. With XP that was no big deal, but 7 hated the Stereo Mix-Mic Combo for some reason... Anyway, I still have one problem. Any ideas on how to get rid of the microphone echoing my voice?

  • i want to split audio in two different devices. how?

  • I'll give it a try later and I'll give you my impressions...

  • I love you man, I've been looking for this fix!,...

    Thx Man!

  • There is no Line 1 on this laptop D:

  • Simply put, none of this works for me. This isn't to discredit you. I followed your instructions, as well as having looked all across the Internet for help, and no matter what...silence. Neither the 'Listen' method nor the Audio Repeater method gives me an audible output at the speakers/headphones, even though all the steps in the middle seem to be right and the 'green bars' (the VU meters) are definitely registering input.

  • @Sodorii The only way to mitigate the lag is by lowering the buffer size in the repeater, and this requires some toying around until you find the right size. Keep lowering it little by little until you start hearing artifacts (or when it completely stops working) and find a middle ground from there. Aside from that, there's not much you can do. Good luck!

  • @hugonium The lag is rather annoying though, am I doing something wrong or can't I remove the lag in audio repeater as per your reply with it

  • @therichshow831 ok got it with audio repeater.. just some lag time
