Danny Perasa and his wife, Annie, came to StoryCorps to recount their twenty-seven-year romance. As they remember their life together from their first date to Danny's final days with terminal cancer, these remarkable Brooklynites personify the eloquence, grace, and poetry that can be found in the voices of everyday people when we take the time to listen.

The day my father died, we found a short letter he had written to us, to help with writing his obituary. He was 77 and had done a lot and succeeded in many ways, but he put it all into two and a half pages... a page and a half of which was about how much he loved my mother and how he met her. What a gift to give the world, to give your children, to simply love somebody that much... and to be someone worth loving back.

Well done, you've made an Englishman cry. The emotion police are coming to take me away. I hope you're all happy with yourselves. (Seriously, if I can ever have but a fraction of what they had, I will die happy.)

I completely lost it at "I walked in with ya alone, I'm walkin' out with ya alone." If a truer example of human love exists beyond this, I have never seen it.

I don't think I've ever watched a video that made me cry like a little bitch...until now.

Well I made it though a few of these without crying. I felt sad or touched but, I didn't cry. I was totally blubbering before this one was over. It reminds me of a saying I once heard and I althought I might not remember it word for word, the sentaments are the same. "The greatest love story is not Romieo and Juliette who died together, it is Grandma and Grandpa who lived together."

This was the most beautiful thing I ever saw on YouTube. I didn't even notice I was crying until it ended.
