One of the most misunderstood things in the modern evangelical church today is the Reformed Doctrines of Grace, commonly known as "Calvinism." For many Christians, Calvinism is a controversial buzzword that causes them to say to themselves "That's the theology that teaches certain people were created for hell without any other choice, or that God is the author of sin." Neither of these notions are biblical, nor are they a part of the teaching of historic, Reformed Theology.

With excerpts from John Piper and Charles Spurgeon, this video explains the true essence of Reformed Theology

  • Doesn't really answer the question even remotely that was posed at the beginning... whether the belief that "certain people were created for hell without any other choice" is actually accurate in the Calvinist viewpoint or not. Reading the five points of Calvinism and hearing this video still kind of leaves that open to being true. I don't believe it is true, but I can't see how it NOT being true works with being a Calvinist.

  • @Noona1818 It is based

on a few scripture taken out of context, if a calvinist would veiw scripture in context there wouldnt be that deviding line, we are supose torigtly divided the word of truth as timothy says

  • @jmartin6514 THANK YOU¨!:) sound beautiful and reminds me more about a sad film about the JEWS in holocoust with a happy ending! simple and beautiful

  • @Noona1818 Jesus most certainly did die for ALL.

"But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death FOR EVERYONE." Heb2:9

  • @Fuller1754 You claim that a person is given life before they believe. Scripture says that we have life as a result of believing.

"Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, AND THAT BY BELIEVING you may have life in his name."John20:30-31

  • In my humble opinion Jesus died for me so that I could die in him. Check out Romans 6:3-4; 2 Timothy 2: 11-12; Matthew 10: 37 - 39. That's what saves me/us - being united to Jesus in his death and resurrection. Jesus took death which was a punishment for our disobedience and made it an act of obedience. Jesus took death which is our end and made it a new beginning.

You're quoting Matt 25 out of context. The difference between the sheep and goats is that the sheep lived the law of love and the goats didn't. It has little or nothing to do with election. It actually supports the BIBLICAL doctrine we are saved by FAITH WORKING THROUGH LOVE, of FAITH AND WORKS together, not (the unbiblical) doctrine of Faith Alone.
