  • Black Rock indeed. This was/is Rock, Funk, Soul and a lot of other things (including names kids' parents through at it). All of it apt. And it is sooo good. For one thing, these folks were such exceptional musicians. Exceptional! For another, Sly, who was so creative, also continuously coming up with such imaginative pieces such as this. I, for one, still salute the man, and his, ah... (cronies) "family." ;-) Big ups to BigMTown4 for uploading this. Thank you.

what a world what a world!!!!!!!

  • One of my favorite long cut instrumental (or long bridge) recordings. Still get a chuckle from the Chambers Brother's joke at the end.

  • The first concert I ever attended was Sly & the Family Stone. I was a very young kid. Oh yeah, A group called War opened the show. Sly, as was pretty normal for him about this time, didn't show up. This unknown band, War, turned the place OUT. Not too many people missed Sly. I still think SS (Sly Stone/Sylvester Stewart) is the shiznit though. Rock on Sly. And the rest of your "family."
