I picked up a small generator off of Craigslist for $40, I cleaned it up and made it serviceable to use as a home backup generator. I show how to connect it up to a Furnace and get it to work during power outages. Great small self sufficient generator for home use.

  • could you use this as a get you home back up for an electric vehicle wit ha 500 watt motor?

  • its amazing on how world wide this little generator is. so many diffrent names slapped onto it. i have one i bought from a pawn shop for $80. works great runs upto 1200 watts 1000 running watts. its also got a 12v socket. but when i jump start my truck i just hook up a 50 amp battery charger to the generator wich has saved me a few times with a weak battery in my truck and when im out in the middle of nowhere.

  • wow this generator has so many brand names slapped on it. i have the etq tg1200 that looks exactly like this with the tank blue. mine has got a 12 outlet on the side just above that metal plate. runs great i keep it in my truck for work when there no power. it runs my 15 amp saw just fine. its also great to have for when the truck battery dies. i keep a 50 amp charger as well. run it for 10 minutes just enough charge to start my truck. 1000 watts is all i need.

  • @rawimpact yes. this prevents the gas from seperating and varnishing and ultimately, clogging the carb in which it would then run off olny primed fuel.

  • This one is kind of unique - seems like it truly is older than the ones you more typically see at the auto parts stores these days - like what I have. For 40 bucks though I'd say you got a good deal.

There are many factors that can cause a 2 stroke to be picky and smokey.

I think it is more likely that the guy either put the wrong plug heat range in it, or mixed automotive oil with it.

As a clarification the 12v receptacle can trickle charge a battery but will not jump a car.

  • what make is it

  • with a 2stroke, yes

  • Really? So running out of gas is a good thing before putting it away?
