Not being able to find a Jacob tup I liked, close enough to collect last autumn, I decided on trying an experiment in breeding sheep for fleece this year.
Jacob ewes crossed with Blue Faced Leicester ram, and the result so far is promising. The first lambs are TALL !, but they are curly, and shiny, and adorably black.
Some of their aunts in the video are for sale, as they are not correct enough to be included in our main breeding programme. Their brothers are good eating, so they will make good, easy to care for, easy to lamb, mothers for the house, as well as giving a fleece that spinners have given me the thumbs up.
