July 31, 2009. NJATC Group#69. On our final day of training every class member is required to climb a utility pole that is 90 feet tall. Once at the top we sign our names on our class number. I was number 3 out of 11 to climb that day. Good job boys.

Why is this fellow a pussy, he isnt watching his feet as he is going up, but going at a steady pace to get to his goal, he comes down with biting into the pole or kicking out, so what is the big deal, as the comfort and experience grows so will this fellows speed and and confidence. Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast.

God damn, anybody else remember free climbing this far, no belt till you got to the top, throw her over the cross arm and get to work?!? I guess its been awhile, this camera view got my tummy a churning, I guess thats what was so much fun about it!

yo this is sum crazy shit. my training was done on an actuall install the pole was 50 feet high and i gotta say it was an adrenaline rush after that i was hooked ive never donea 90 but i bet its alot of fun. good luck be safe you never kno when the line might fail yo

Hey guys, Im a senior in High school this year and next year im going to OSU in oklahoma in high voltage lineman. I know alot about the job but if anyone here has any tips they could give me on climbing, or anything, i would much appriciate it. Message me please and thanks!Lineman arent respected enough.
