  • And yet...some how I know...that if you have children, they call you father/dad/daddy/pop or something to that effect.

  • The days of religeon in the 21st century are over are they? There are new people joining my parish all the time. These people open their ears to the message of Christianity, and their lives are richer and happier because of it.. You dont even know what categorises "people of God" and you think you should comment on the quality of a religious life? Dont be a fool and I dare you to learn about what you are criticising.

  • when is Father Mickler going to offer the traditional LAtin Mass? Or does he? I see him only saying the new modern mass. So many pastors and bishops are still trying to avoid the latin Mass in OUR parishes! They are disobedient to the Pope!

  • Do you really believe that Jesus came ,sacrificed himself for mankind but would condem you for all eternity for uttering the word father?

  • I was confused. There is also the Paulists fathers founded by Isaac Hecker who work in communications too. They don't take vows but they do similar work. It seems duplicative. I didn't know there was also a Pauline congregation before I saw this youtube video.

  • Do you have to go to church to get to heaven?

  • you guys will justify your Traditions however much you can.. because that is the bedrock of your emotions--but Jesus said, "you shall not call anyone Father.. for there is One Father in heaven"-- Matthew 23:8-- so justify all you want because you've had good emotional experiences in the Roman Catholic Church-but realize it wasn't God' intent for you to have a Priest as Father---because all believers are "priests" now.. and the Pope was not a concept given by Christ.. it's tradition that overcame

  • He was talking about attitudes, as always; not to make a particular person "your" guru. True freedom comes from accepting that God works through poor human relationships (like St. Paul's when he says to Timothy "I became your *father* through the Gospel"...)

  • Also if you read your Bible carefully you will see that Christ also uses Tradition which is not in the Old Testament. E.g. "the seat of Moses"; He also revises Old Testament history at a certain point.

  • The Catholic faith teaches that Christ is true man and true God. 100% both. Presumably Christ's humanity was created specially, but it's a matter for speculation really.

How does God keep all things in being without being a "Thing among things"? It's a mystery of faith, but it does help to explain a lot!

  • of course you call your your father, father.. .when Jesus said "Call no one Father or Rabbi" he was talking about religious titles!

  • In that case, I sin when I go up to my dad and call him father.
