Camera - Sony HDR - AX2000, Computer - Sony VPCF127FD, editing software - Sony Vegas Pro 9, Location - Jewel Lake BC
Music: Ambient-M (2003) by Antony Raijeko http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/2.5/bg/

This is the first video filmed with our new Sony HDR AX2000 HD camera. I used Sony single chip HD consumer video camera for about 4 years now and love the quality of the video. Yesterday I took our new Sony HDR AX2000 camcorder out --- WOW - Never would I have believed the difference in picture quality. Talking about the quality of the video is one thing but here you can see it. The camera is a pleasure to use, easy to learn the functions, battery life of the optional long life battery is great, the only thing is that when I first picked the camera up it didn't seem heavy, which it's not, but the weight difference between the smaller consumer camera and the Sony HDR AX2000 becomes apparent the longer you hold it.
The Sony VPCF127FD is also amazing for the speed (used to take 1 hr to render 1 minute of HD video) now I can render 4 minutes in less than 1 hour - makes for more efficient use of time. The screen is remarkably clear (HD) and the sound is many steps above the ARZ290 that it replaced. Originally I thought about using the ARG290 as a back up computer but now I think we will get another Sony VPCF127FD, simply it's not worth the time being frustrated with old (4yr old) technology.

Love it.

  • OMG my eyes hurt! Quality is brilliant. Did you boost the contrast or anything?

  • @9ALLEN9 I do edit and apply some effects.

  • Awful example of this camera. Way oversaturated.

  • A perfect example of how sudden camera moves, fast shutter speed combined with panning and slow motion in post, zooming in and out, oversharpening, oversaturating, blowing out the whites and crushing the blacks can turn a modern HD camcorder into a cell phone cam.

  • @Zielkomplex This camera is very good for low light! I am sure, your settings are wrong...check gain, iris and shutter speed for better quality...

  • I do not like you can see, not clearly see the BBC documentary: (

  • I have this cam now for about three month and I'm not that happy with it. It makes beautiful pictures at day time if the light is right but at low light it makes really noisy pictures. Is this because my settings are wrong or is this the camera?? please I need your help.

  • you need to work on your color correcting skills

  • I have this same camera and I get about 10 times the quality out of it....

  • shit quality

  • Too much contrast and oversaturated.

  • @malbert34

10grand? no this camera is under 4 thousand.

close to 3 grand if you shop around. and the picture looks bad because he has it over exposed.
