I think that you missed the point of the bible and should be more focused on what Jesus did when he was on earth and why!!!

@epidomeThe two major wars the "1 & 2WWs" were forght by Christain Nation and even today what we might call, terrorist, the christain & the muslim are doing what they have been doing for years. Most people have their own religion, now if they applied what Jesus taught, all the wars that mankind has fought would not have happen. Yes there have been wars, but most have been supported by the Clergy an those who support them' the population of those countrys. Most wars are caused by religion

@BasketballCardsNZ, are you so sure. The WTBTS teach JWs to hate those who oppose Jehovah's organization. Jesus taught to love your enemies and to pray for those who persecute you. The WTBTS practices religious intolerance and you say that it's teachings would lead to peace, the WTBTS has instituted many medical prohibitions that have lead to the deaths of thousands only to retract those prohibitions and given false predictions of the end of the world costing JWs everything they had!

@epidome The tetragramaton appears in Gen 2:4 in the Hebrew Text. (see BHS)

@epidome The New World Translation has not 'inserted the word other' into Colossians 1:16ff, as you assert. The word 'other' is implied in the preceding word 'all'. It is simply not true to say that "there is absolutely no warrant in the Greek text whatsoever for the insertion of the word 'other'".The original Greek says that all things were created by means of Christ or through him, not by him as the ultimate agent

@BasketballCardsNZ, the majority of wars in history weren't religious, that is a tired and long defeated argument that religion is more responsible for death and turmoil than anything else. Humanity has wared all of it's history and religion has had a very little part in it.

@brofun Go ahead , what other translations?
-
@brofun the Bible is based in an Inspired original. Since we do not have the originals we do have ample samples to reconstruct the text.In fact based on the commentaries from the Early Church Fathers we can reconstructed from them. There are more OT/NT copies than any other ancient text. As far as reliable today in English are several Amplified,KJV,NKJV, NASB,NIV,RSV........of course the Hebrew and Greek texts can be consulted so yt's not a free for all as some claim.
Benjamin Kedar: "I find my feeling repeatedly confirmed that [the OT] reflects an honest endeavor to achieve an understanding of the text that is as accurate as possible....Giving evidence of a broad command of the original language...I have never discovered in the New World Translation any biased intent to read something into the text that it does not contain."

@queruvimwj, Tell me than why the entire book of Genesis in the NWT contains the Tetragrammaton while it isn't even revealed until Exodus? This is a gross mistranslation, placing the Tetragrammaton throughout the entire book of Genesis as if it were removed from it, Exodus (6:3) I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but by my name YHWH I did not make myself known to them. You see the Tetragrammaton doesn't appear in Genesis yet the NWT has it all throughout it!

@queruvimwj, In Colossiand (1:16,17) the uninspired word other is inserted 4 times agains the Greek to alter these passages of Scripture and make them deny the deity of Christ!

Frederick William Franz did not say HE COULD NOT translate BUT HE WOULD NOT... it is different. He was not there because of the translation issues. You are lying about what really happened there!

@queruvimwj, do you honestly beleive his education was suitable to do so? It takes many years to deal with the dead languages of the Bible and our present one together, Scholars today are still very challenged by this even with years upon years of education in exegetical theology.
