  • @SeaRanger311 3 simple reasons.

    1. Distraction. Derails opponent's thinking if he is watching you play with your cards.

    2. Hiding. Keeping the same card in your hand in the same position will show that you are holding onto one card for something, keying your opponent into its importance.

    3. Nerves. You are so nervous, palms are sweaty, hands are shaking. It helps if shuffling your hand calms you because of repetition.

  • Am I the only player in this game that doesn't do that god-awful nervous hand shuffling thing?

They are both going at it like it's a mating ritual.

  • Man... I don't go to a Magic Worldship not because I don't have a chance. I don't go coz' I'd probably get bored about other player shuffling my deck in +3 different ways before a f**** single match -____-''' START THIS CRAP FAST DUDE!!! THE CARDS WILL NOT DISAPPEAR OF MY DECK!

  • What I just discovered: if in any moment in any vid you are watching, there apears the points that roll telling you that the video is loading, try to press up key or down key, and you will find something awesome

  • doas chairs are not for champions

  • Screw that table/chairs. I would put an oak table and two thrones fit for a King. That sounds more Magic related to me.

  • @movcrit Mana flood, mana screw.

  • @TranceDjFate Do you have the math to prove that it is less luck bound or what you call more fair, or all you have are just subjective claims?

BTW "it's got many LUCK variants! Chess, does not." You did say it was without luck of course I follow what people mean (not what they say). if you wish to amend your position I am find with that.

Also, this is not some kind of hostile discussion, notice I have not called anyone names, used caps, etc. This is merely an Intellectual discussion.

  • @movcrit I've never said it was without luck, i SAID IT WAS LESS, and you know this, im not saying absolutes, i'm saying chess is FairER, LESS luck-bound.

Stop talking about this, magic is fun, chess...might be fun? dunno never liked it.

And i dont care for them that much now, they were just a hobby to occupy my time waiting for GUILD WARS 2 BEST GAME EVER.

  • @TranceDjFate In chess you guess/call your opponent's plan (the hidden information) and if you get lucky (and his plan is actually what you saw it as) then you. Therefore, chess can also have a luck variant that you seem to identify magic with though a more accurate name is hidden information and risk management. I've played chess competitively before I played magic and in chess you also manage risk.

  • @TranceDjFate "Luck" whatever you may mean by it however does not determine whether a game is fair or not as long as it is fairly distributed. Yes, you won't always get all of those selected cards, you might get mana flooded etc. but your opponent has the same chance to face the same outcome given the choices of cards. The difference between chess and magic isn't luck but game quantities as hidden information (as opposed to each other's plans as the hidden information).

  • @movcrit It's so simple, you won't always get ALL of those selected cards, you might get mana flood, mana screw, it's got many LUCK variants! Chess, does not. Therefore it is more boring ( one of the reasons) and fairer.
