On my way home from The Philippines, I stopped in Seoul, South Korea, to meet a person I subscribe to here on YouTube. I have subscribed to Big Bear Ron almost since the beginning of his time here on YouTube, but had never met him in person. This was my third trip through Korea, but the first time Ron and I could get free time at the same time.

Ron brought a good friend along, named Seoul, who has been studying English on his own for about six years. He does very well with English, but when you put the camera on him, he gets shy about the camera, and seems to lose track of the conversation. But off camera, we had a very long conversation, with only a few bumps in the road.

On the day I shot this video, it was pretty cold outside, so the video was a little on the short side. We met in a coffee shop, and ended up talking for over 4 hours. When it was time to leave, it seemed like we had just gotten started. I really look forward to being able to meet Ron and Seoul again in the future.

If you like Korea, Ron has some good videos to watch. Some are about tourist attractions in Korea, and a few are simply Ron showing you around his local area. Ron also has a ton of cooking videos, if you are into that also. Either way, I always like to see when he puts up a new video.

If you are watching this video, click on Ron's YouTube Screen Name, and check out his channel. You should find a couple videos that interest you. Here are a couple links to some videos he did about the War Memorial. http://youtu.be/GCZGEC73mPM , http://youtu.be/DzDepf_XZOE .

Thanks Ron, and thank you Seoul, for the good conversation, and warm welcome you gave me while being in Itaewon, South Korea.

  • Korea is a really nice place to go. The people are nice, and they respect themselves. No throwing trash on the ground, or trashing things like public transportation.

  • Awesome! The subway stations are way cleaner than the ones up here in NYC!

  • The pleasure was ours, Jim!
