He performs works for solo cello: Suites by J.S. Bach and Gaspar Cassadó, Paul Hindemiths Sonata for Solo Cello, as well as selections from his own composition, Twelve Études-Caprices, Op. 31.
Named Principal Cellist of the DSO in 2002, deMaine has been praised by The New York Times as an artist who makes one hang on every note. He has distinguished himself as one of the finest musicians of his generation, having performed to critical acclaim throughout the world, from Carnegie Hall to the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires.
