A short newsreel clip depicting the Brighton Blue Belle, a special train commemorating the end of steam services from Brighton to Horsted Keynes. LBSCR A1X 'Stepney' and E4 'Birch Grove' are seen double heading the service leaving Brighton. Both are still owned and operated by the Bluebell Railway in Sussex.

  • Great Video.

  • Interesting film clip, especially as I am looking at myself on Brighton Station 45 years ago or so, the young soldier!!

    Not so young now though.

  • I went a train at the Bluebell Railway with Stepney and Birch grove pulling it. Birch Grove now has to go back to back with Stepney as they face differnet directions.

  • Excellent clip, weird seeing engines like the E4 currently under restoratioin runnning on the mainline.
