Part 1 of 2
Another new railway for me this year, the Llangollen Railway, also being my first visit to North Wales. I made the trip up with JBTEvans, GJDobbzy, and jakeyboygen for the day. The weather was overall good, with some brief light rain in the morning, clearing with bright sunshine in the afternoon. The engines in action were GWR 0-6-2T 56XX Class No 5643, and GWR 0-6-0PT 64XX Class No 6430, both of which were new to me, a Class 104 DMU also ran the first and last services of the day from Llangollen.
In this first part we start off on the DMU entering and exiting Berwyn Tunnel. A stop off at Glyndyfrdwy, watching the DMU leave for Carrog, and then return heading for Llangollen. 5643 then arrives with the first steam service of the day from Llangollen, is then seen running round at Carrog, and departing for Llangollen. 6430 then arrives from Llangollen and is seen running round, before we see the train departint from Berwyn.
Superb video...really well composed shots and use of zoom! Mind you, it is such a beautiful line! I went to last April's steam gala and was inspired to book a footplate experience day, which I had last November...on 5643! Thanks for this.
