Well, I really like this song, even in Dutch although the lyrics are totally different and I just wanted to add a small part of the talking just becuase the whole atmosphere is so cold and dark and well their voices suit perfectly I think, same for the singing voices

*Hebrew, Hebrews.
I don't even know if this excists in Enlgish but I didn't dare to write Jews or Israelians since we have other words for that in Dutch *slams her head aginast the computer* but yeah I these sentences feel a bit like ''Ich bin ein Berliner'' but OK..... I had to write something right? RIGHT ?!

so for the second thing
the little boy is playing with fire might sound a bit strange to you.
(it also is possible to say the little boy plays with fire)
but yeah the ''little boy'' refers to Moses as a sort of cynical joke towards him and playing with fire is very dangerous because you can't controll it, I've said enough right....
The same for 'knul'that is usually something you say to some young child.
I love these cynical and sarcastic lyrics.

  • Hebrew and Hebrews are nouns, I think it was correct to write it as you did, that's how it is also in the Hebrew version itself. "I'm a Hebrew" :)

The lyrics are very mordant, more than the original. I really liked the voices too!

  • this for sure cured one of my headaches!

    Hebreeuw - a Hebrew

Hebreeërs - Hebrews (atleast this is my guess...)

I'm glad you enjoyed the it ^^

  • This is my favorite version.

  • I love the metaphoric use of the term "het vuur". It's well thought. Besides, Moses' voice in Dutch is pretty great !

  • English sounds a lot like Dutch because it's a Germanic language with linguistic roots similar to Dutch/Danish/Swedish/Norwegian/Icelandic/German. But since English was mixed with Roman languages like French and Latin (from the Roman occupation onwards, and later the Norman invasions which created a Norman/French speaking upper class in England), it sounds slightly different then the other Germanic languages.

  • Do you know who the voice actors/singers are?

  • Could you please upload the "Plagues" video, with subtitles and translation? I have seen you do a great work with both the Prince of Egypt and the Hunchback of Notre Dame! flimpjesmaster has uploaded the Plagues but with lyrics only for Moses and Ramesses... Please? :)

  • @Alishondra

bedoel je in het filmpje zelf of normaal.

ik zou het zelf eigenlijk niet weten `er`..

moet ik even over denken ;p

  • @justforflag2 German have also other annotations that dutch. The word 'het, de ' or 'the' in english can be written in 3 differents terms in german. Der, das and die. But if you know a bit of german, you can recgonize some Dutch words. Like 'middernacht' and 'mitternacht' that both mean 'midnight' but some words are completely different from Dutch. The two languages are alike -but not the same- because it a germanic language. Other germanic languages is also for an example Swedish.

  • @aamber1992 wat dacht je dat het woord 'er' moeilijk is? xD Want daar is niet eens een vertaling van ;p

  • hey deze verie is anders dan mijn nederlandse versie

mozes zin stem is... erg xd
