INFO
This is my Home-made Brat Jr. Dub that i built after watching a 10 second video of the Lynxmotion Brat Jr. Walking. I figured out the shape and size of each part, then sketched it out on a notebook. Then I Drew up my pieces on a computer case door and cut them out with tin snips. I drilled screw holes and then bent the pieces where needed. After attaching all the servos and receiver it was ready for testing. It turned out ok for little under 10 hours of work. It would be nice to automate it but I'm getting better with shifting weight with the controller. I used duct tape to hold down some pieces that weren't cooperating.
WHAT WOULD I CHANGE?
I would like to make pieces that are actually straight and precise(I'm a little off) and that aren't sharp. I would use a lighter metal and a different cutting method (tin snips through computer case = Frustration) I might add grip to the feet and I would round off the corners to make walking a little easier. I would like to add automation to the movements but having all control is nice sometimes. Attaching pieces together and securing servos better would be a plus.
WHY SO SMALLl?
The Brat Jr. is a robot with 2 DOF per leg, one of the lowest that still walks and is simple. That's what made it attractive to my building desires. I only needed 4 servos, a controller, and some metal parts to put it all together. Next time I would definitely make a more intricate leg system but that means actually buying stuff (real materials, a programmable controller) but for now I'll have something to play with.
PART LIST (the stuff i used)
Scrap Metal
4 Hitec Servos
Hitec Transmitter/Receiver (6ch)
6v Battery Source
Switch
Various Screws
Duct tape
Balsa wood (to balance to feet)

Nope, I can't because of balance issues. The limitations of walking don't help either. I am controlling his by complete RC so i only have 4 channels to work with. I need a programing board to go any farther. But eventually i hope to at least get a torso.

NO you do not get a torso it looks cooler as just two legs...unless you put a camera on....and give him knees
