What did Schopenhauer say about nihilism? Did he think that anything had inherent value?

Oh yes! And Schopenhauer gives great advice on precisely how to live a merry life, and yet is the most difficult state to achieve, however much you may try, which I do btw. However, in the end, and in truth, whether you are happy or unhappy doesn't matter either, it is all senseless. And that is true pessimism!

@alukkkard Nothing matters in the long run but at the moment I have needs that really matter to me right now. A hearty meal will not matter to a dead man but to a living being it could mean life giving joy. One can not eat truth but one can ignore it and still live a merry life. We owe it to the bacteria to leave them a fat juicy corps. Through them you might find yourself in another human being helping them with their digestion.

@HomuncuIus How can one know what will's goal is? I can say its goal is life and as long as there is life, will is satisfied. Nietzsche did not fixed anything about Schopenhauer's philosophy. In my opinion, there is nothing to be fixed about it.
