Elastomeric Chain Closing Spaces in Teeth

This is showing how braces are used to close spaces. After the wires have had time to align the teeth, a stiffer wire is placed. Then an elastic chain is used to pull all the spaces together. It may take several adjustments. This video is exported from of "Dolphin Aquarium".

Had my braces since Feb 2011 but just got the power chain on top and bottom a couple of days ago and now I feel the pain-gums are throbbing but the pain isn't unbearable, just a little discomfort

I wan't this:(...My orthodontist only puts the elastic chain over the hole between 2 theets. Why?? .. I want it all over my teeth..It's takes for ever for the holes to close :'( Will it go faster that way??

I got the top a while ago but i got a chain on my bottom teeth a few days ago and it still hurts! Last adjustment before this shit is coming off though :)

@zadabo99x I think they are used mainly to close gaps. Not to necessarily adjust an over or under bite.

I've had braces for over a year already and they did this on all my lower teeth. It hurts soo much >.<
