'96 Ford Fiesta 1.8 Endura-DE diesel "cold" start.

OK, so it's not really a cold start as it's about 12 degrees C, but the car is on its ORIGINAL set of glow plugs! That's 84,000miles worth of use!

The fan belt needs replaced, but unfortunately the car is to be scrapped as it's just needing to much for its MOT.

Actually your car sounds like an old peugeot diesel. You know, that bad exhaust rattle, really bad vibrations on first start up and a lot of smoke. Are you sure your car hasn't got an ancient peugeot engine in it. It sounds like one, lol.

Thats why I prefer Vauxhall to Fords. Not because of your car you understand. Every Ford diesel I have seen at around the 2004- 2008 mark seems to have a problem with smoking. They all seem to smoke a lot, plus their engines sound as rough as hell
