For my Spring 2007 Digital Culture class, I had to do a video version of my paper on ubiquitous computing and multi-touch technology, examining among other things, Apple's new iPhone - which will likely bring this technology to the mass consumer market.

I received a 96 on this assignment.

  • multi touch tech is comming soon nt in 5 years this vid is not true. microsoft surface is comming nxt year in jan. so this vid is a load of ####

  • But are people going to be able to afford it next year? For $100,000 a piece, probably not. Also, that product was not announced at the time this video was created.

Case in point: High-Def TV came out many years ago, but when did you get one? Do you even have HDTV?

  • Funny how now in late 2011 these predictions have proven to be exactly right, if not even more advanced even than this video had predicted.

  • hi this is robloxguy587 from the year 868795 we have touchable and bendable light holograms.

  • JPizzle wheres the music from ?

    just interessted :)

  • This is a really good video.

  • too bad most of Microsoft's touch systems are going the way of longhorn.

  • i love how it says we have to wait about 5 years for this tech is available to the public and then a year later the Hp Touchsmart came out

  • This is a really nice simple to understand video on Ubi Comp,

would you mind if I were to embed eles where?

  • sweet

  • Nice video compilation. The Iphone would compliment Augmented Reality as one of many windows to the information planet. Multi-touch definately offers a better, more intuative way to view and manipulate information on the screen(this is considering the camera is used to view objects in this Ubiquitous Computing enviroment and show data on those objects). But the idea is calm, invisible, seemless computing and the Iphone does bring us closer to that.
