Dear waynee8 and DenMor7, your discussion about who is better is bringing both Kenwood and LP down.

Both programs are great. Also people never really know the reasons why teachers transfer to other schools so the best thing to do is to work on your own music and be the best you can be without hating.....peace.

If the Kenwood Music Department is better than the LPHS Department please let me see. How come when I was getting awards for being in the LPHS Concert Band, Orchestra, Marching Band and Pep Band nobody from Kenwood was. Yes, our depatment may be going down but who's band is getting the perfect scores? Who's band is being invited to Mid-West, Northwestern, etc. ??? Our band was playing music that was a much higher level than Kenwood could ever dream of playing!!!

They will be performing at the IHSA championship game at the Peoria Civic Center on March 20, 2010."

I swear in every video that features a LP performing ensemble there's always a kid in some other school hating on us. DOES IT REALLY MATTER? We are all musicians and performers can't we unite on that fact? Be grateful CPS didn't cut the music program. And @waynee8 it is not a requirement for you to call people names to get your point across.

@MrRichardj1 HA!!! KAHS bands & choirs are the best in chicago. We cannot & have not been beat. lincoln park, if you don't believe us, just as your friends at Whitney young. They suffered years of getting their tail whopped by kenwood in choral and band music.

@sjb811 - He made her do a full audtion, however when he audition me when he asked did I have any prior choral experience before when I said I was in The Kenwood Academy Concert Choir for three years not only I was told not to audition because I got in the Concert Choir because I was in the Kenwood Concert Choir he offer me a 5,000.00 scholarship. So do not ever talk down about the Award Winning Kenwood Academy Music Department because, it simply cannot be beat !!!!! Get At Me (:

@sjb811 - Kenwood Academy Music Department might not ranked in the State Numbers liked Lincoln Park. However, Kenwood Academy Music Department is a national reclaimed music department. You know what is so funny I go to college with a girl who was in the Lincoln Park Singers by which was founded by my god mother Mrs. Gaberlyn Watson- Foster until she left to go to Kenwood Academy. We both had audition to get in the Concert Choir at our school the professor made her did a full audition.

Kenwood Academy Concert Choir is hell of a lot better than Lincoln Park High School Concert Choir. Kenwood Academy Jazz Band and Concert Band is a heck of a lot better than Lincoln Park band. Kenwood Jazz Band is the first school that has ever been invited to performed at the Chicago Jazz Festival. Kenwood Academy Concert Choir is the best in Chicago , they recently had a chance to perforned with Cassandra Wilson ,Jennfier Hudson, The South Shore Opera Company in the 2009-2010 school year

@KevinAZheng ur right kenwood doesn't come close. KENWOOD DOESN'T HAVE AN ORCHESTRA!! like DUH. LP choirs could NEVER come for kenwood's...thats a KNOWN fact.
