Thanks for sharing! I like to hear this different version, compared to someone like Loretta Lynn. I get the awesome privilege of singing this song this weekend. Perhaps I'll record it and share. I hope to do it justice.

What a pleasure! A Philadelphian who had worked with Willa Ward (sorry for the alliteration), DeeDee Sharp recalls Clara's version, but I like hers better! There was another kid Sondra Peyton who sang with The Famous Ward Singers and The Stars of Faith, who was even more impressive. Obviously DeeDee with her Clara sound was a forerunner of Aretha Franklin.
