Shouldn't it matter more whether or not someone has a disease that would effect said organ, rather than the person was gay? Just because someone is gay, doesn't mean their organs are diseased, or that someone will get a bad organ. There are many, many people waiting for organs, and we're too busy telling people they can't donote because they're gay to notice that those in need are dying as we speak.

I personally think that it SHOULD be based on promiscuity and not orientation if there has to be anything at all...if the doctors say that there's a rigourous screening process I believe them. That should be all that matters.

Aren't we forgetting all the closeted out there? Does that mean that as long as they conceal their homosexuality, they can donate their organs anytime they please whether the organs are infected or not? This ban is utterly stupid at best...makes no sense whatsoever. I'm a HEALTHY gay male who is ALWAYS RESPONSIBLE and therefore I refuse to be lumped into some stupid statistic which identifies me as high risk. Last time I checked, straight people get infections/diseases too.
