CTLS: Interview Of Task Force Field Organizer Trystan Reese (Part 2)

http://pamshouseblend.com - Autumn Sandeen of Pam's House Blend interviews Trystan Reese, a field organizer from The Gay & Lesbian Task Force. He was one of the organizers for the OneKalamazoo fight for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) equality under the law -- the fight for Kalamazoo, Michigan to have sexual orientation and gender identity as protected classes under city ordinance.

Reese, in the interview, discusses why The Task Force had a presence at the California Transgender Leadership Summit (CTLS). And, towards the end of part 1 of the interview, and into part 2, Trystan and I talk bathrooms in relationship to the OneKalamazoo campaign and the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA).

"Prior to joining the Task Force, Trystan Reese did campus organizing at Oregon State University and worked as volunteer staff with Vote for Equality, a project of the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center. Together he and fellow Task Force staffer Moof Mayeda created Trans Equality L.A., giving a voice to the complex relationship trans people have with gay marriage. During his time with the Task Force, he has worked on issues of marriage, domestic partnerships, United ENDA, trans discrimination protections and safe schools."
