The Bay Minette Municipal Airport is currently being used to train Navy cadet want to be pilots. My neighbors and i have been constantly harassed by these training planes as well as daily flights by U.S. military aircraft; Navy, Army, Marine Corp and Coast Guard fixed wing and helicopters. The helicopters fly almost every night for three to four hours. We have written all our representatives without receiving any assistance at all.
Your local representative have sold you out for more money they will be able to waste. In my case i have no standing with the Bay Minette City council or the mayor because i don't live in Bay Minette. I live in White House Fork where 95% of the training flights take place. The U.S. Government also spent your tax dollars in the form of grants to put a jet refueling station at the Bay Minette airport even though most jets can't land there and very few do. In the past year or so i have seen two small Lear jets land there.
The official Bay Minette Airport site states only 15% of their traffic is military. They obviously count the Cessna airplanes used to train navy pilots as civilian traffic. To me this is a blatant lie.
