An entire chapter profiles animal advocates who are Holocaust survivors, children or grandchildren of survivors, and people who lost relatives in the Holocaust.

In 2010 in Virginia where PETA is headquartered, the number of shelter animals euthanised by all rescue groups (both privately & publicly-funded), and all city and county shelters was 68,684. 2,652 animals died while in the facility. Of that number, 2,243 guardians brought their dog, cat, or other companion animal to PETA for a dignified and painless release for FREE. More animals died in shelters while waiting to be killed than all the dogs and cats PETA euthanised in 2010. Check those facts!
