  • I crossed paths with Jimmie Lee out on the road--we were both booked at a festival, maybe the Winnipeg Folk Fest--and we had a meal in a diner. He talked about how he could live on lettuce and nothing else. Interesting guy.

  • I met Jimmie Lee at Wille Be Reed's funeral (Hubert Sumlin's late wife and Sunnyland Slim's first cousin) and he was an incredibly genuine and nice person, he had a real magnetism to his presence. Until then I had never heard of him but became a fan on the spot.

  • Jimmie Lee was a special guy.A true gentleman.

Great story teller and musician. He did his best to preserve Maxwell Street! We miss Him very much!

  • My wife wanna go to Jewtown when you're doing me wrong?

    Uh, I prefer Jimmy Reed...

  • I liked his music very much. I think he even toured with Jimmy Reed in Europe in 1968 or 67. Somebody told me made the world-wide known beer commercial, is that true?

I made a tribute to Jimmy Reed - an animated short to honor man and music.

Would like you to invite you and your visitors to watch it. It is really different.

    Greetings from Germany

  • Thanks for the post I love this tribute to his old friend Jimmy Reed.
