Well we're still coming off the heels of a time when black people were degraded, and it still lingers today. We similarly have a gay pride movement but not a heterosexual pride one.
The term 'white power' has also sadly become associated with the KKK. I guess just distance yourself from that if you do wish to be proud of being white. I see your point, and for what its worth, I won't think someone a racist for saying 'white pride' in itself.
