The term romance (Spanish romance/romanza, Italian romanza, German Romanze, French romance, Russian романс) has a centuries long history. Beginning as narrative ballads in Spain, it came to be used by the 18th century for simple lyrical pieces not only for voice, but also for instruments alone - as in this example.

  • What sort of mic's were used,it sounds as

though it was done in a studio,do you know

    what I mean.

  • It's a Sony ECM MS957 originally used with my digital tape recorder. After the DAT was broken I hooked it up on one of my workstations. The original audio of the video was replaced with this simultaneously recorder track. I just was playing around with some stuff with no intention to create anything professional.

  • Thanks for the info eur0tec,I was just curious

    because most non-professional recordings don't

come close to this, and I like the way the tempo varies, well done.

  • You're welcome and thanks for the compliment.

  • You really know how to play the guitarr, so wonderful. *5*

  • Thank you, Rena :-)

  • SUBLIME!!!

  • Eloquent, lavish, rich, complete; bloody brilliant!

  • Oh, and I forgot to ask you when we can expect

    some more tunes from you.

  • ★★★★★ Excellent!!

  • A very nice rendition, I really like it (and I don't say this often). It has feeling, and the melody on the first string flows naturally, which it seldom does in other videos, even those by professional players (kudos for that).

The only thing I'd criticize is that the tempo changes are very obvious. I'd like it even more if they were more subtle (I'm sure it wouldn't lose a bit of feeling). But then, that may be just a matter of personal taste.

    Anyway: congratulations!

  • Simply beautiful
