"Scarecrow! Scarecrow! The soldiers of the King feared his name!" And so began the hard-to-forget theme song to THE SCARECROW OF ROMNEY MARSH. Walt Disney's thrilling three-part adventure was produced for his WONDERFUL WORLD OF COLOR weekly TV show and aired February 1964.
Filled with action, drama and suspense, it follows the adventures of Dr. Christopher Syn -- brave priest by day, righter of wrongs by night.
@Sparky1002 Don't forget Secret Agent Man, The Prisoner, and the judge in A Time To Kill among other movies! The late great Patrick Mcgoohan!

By the way...the guy who starred as the Scarecrow went on to play the role of King Edward "The Longshanks" in the movie Braveheart.

Saw this in 3 parts on the Disney tv shows back in 1964. Memories indeed!

That half and half image of McGoohan as the Scarecrow is SO cool!

@beaver5560 Likely, Russel Thorndyke merely took his name and profession, much the same as Daniel Defoe did with Robinson Crusoe. Do you truly believe you have a pirate turned pastor turned superhero in your family tree?

Ok, Is there ANYTHING on You Tube cooler than this? I say NOT! LOL!

Dr Synn was a real Vicor in old England, not a priest. I should know, I did family history research and found out that he was a relative, and he did some of the tings that the movie portrayed, but not all!
