And by the way... the name should give it away. Project Excelsior was a Air Force skydiving project in the early '60s.

@harrypmgs AP and HTPB are both abbreviations rather than chemical formulae. HTPB is also known as RBS when used as a high power rocketry fuel. A quick search on wikipedia will tell you lots about these substances.
If you didn't know, Nitrous Oxide (N2O) which is the oxidiser in this type of hybrid motor is actually laughing gas. Another interesting substance! Also worth a look on wikipedia.
