Pitt Students March Against Two Nights of Police Brutality

After two nights of police brutality on the Pitt University campus, Pitt students engage in a spontaneous protest march down Forbes Avenue. Two nights prior, swarms of riot police had shot and teargassed students who were peacefully assembled on their own campus to observe a nearby anti-G20 political demonstration. The following night, students held a rally against the brutality, but the police only increased their level of violence, attacking and arresting over a hundred people. This march, which happened on Saturday September 26th, shows the intolerance of police repression that is growing among the student population.

You got it all wrong, mate. The Bash Back march was the one that fucked shit up and they weren't Pitt students, at least, not the majority. The cops for whatever reason didn't do shit despite only being assembled a few blocks away so what did they do? They went to the campus and took it out on the students. In any case, the cops will very often attack peaceful protesters if they don't have a permit or if they're "disturbing the peace," doesn't matter if they're breaking shit or not.

I saw peaceful protesters being attacked by Police. If you think this is the way to treat people in a democracy you have strange ideas. You always get the establishment stoogiesdefending the indefensible! you will get your fascist Police state, but if you cant wait, why not try moving to China? The video shows folks getting tear-gassed and folks hurling things at the police.

Some of the protesters were violent, some were not. The police did not damage the local community by throwing rocks and bricks. The protesters did. You can't just let people run around and do as they please without consequences. They have to be held accountable for their actions.
