This series of videos shows my new toy in action: a BOSS ME-70 multieffects pedal.
There are many videos around showing what this device can do in the hands of an accomplished musician (look for the ones with Rob Marcello or Johnny DeMarco: they are devastatingly good).
But I wanted to remove the extra factors (great player, great guitar, great amp, a professional recording crew) and just show how the pedal works and what kind of sounds it can make.
This third video shows a few different overdrive/distortion effects ("stompbox" n. 2).
@miru021 No you can't: you can have only one effect on per pedal.
Still, BOSS did things in quite a smart way: you find chorus on both pedal 3 and 4 (on pedal 4 it's actually chorus + delay); same for delay. So you CAN have tremolo and chorus on at the same time, or you can have delay and the looper on at the same time.
I hope this helps. Have fun.

@Elefender Is it possible to make a patch and save it to the Me-70 memory with both chorus and tremolo? (or two or more effects in one pedal?) say.. Defretter, Slow Gear and Compression at the same time? (all found in the Comp/FX section). It's just an example and I'm not sure I would use it... but... Is it possible? thanks! =D

Idk man, me personally, the distortion and OD sound alike, but I always turn the knobs on the pre-amp settings around to get a better tone. It's just the way you set things. This pedal is actually not bad at all.

@MrJackanthony The ME-70 has a fixed signal chain, so you have these "virtual" pedals in this order: wah, pedal 1, pedal 2, preamp/eq, noise filter, volume, pedal 3, pedal 4, reverb. You can't change it, you can just turn them on/off and change their parameters.
I don't have the GT-10, but from what I know, it's much more powerful than this. You can put the fx more or less wherever you want in the signal chain.
So yes, I think you can have chorus and tremolo on at the same time on the GT-10.

@Elefender Anybody know if that can be done with a gt-10?

@jcoldham1 Actually you can use chorus and tremolo at the same time on the ME-70... Sort of. Pedal 4 has an effect called CHO + DELAY (Chorus + Delay). It's not the same effect as the chorus on pedal 3, but it works.
I get your point though, and you're right. If you need some exotic effect combination, this multifx is not always going to cut it. For more standard configurations it's fine.
Have fun.

hey
i think they are just the same
personally i go with the multi effect like the me 70 because you dont have to worry about your effects loop signal with the small pedals
i recently got a new wah pedal and it sounds excatly the same as the wah on my me 50 just with a little more kick but only slightly. i think the compact pedals give u more free because with the me 50-70 you cant use two modulation pedals such chorus and tremelo
hope that helps

guess the drives are better with pedals, tough its not my own judgement, cause i havent heard both.
I think most effects sound very good. And sure i wont be buying a chorus pedal if for the same money i can hve boss me 70:P
