Pine Ridge Cemetery was founded by Judge James Birney in 1858 and became an abandoned cemetery in 1839. Since then it has been preserved by volunteers. It has the largest contingent of Civil War soldier burials in Bay County, Mich. It is located in Bay City at the intersection of Columbus Ave. and Tuscola Road. -- The cemetery is now maintained by New Dimensions.
