All thats missing is the Resonator in front of the muffler.. all it does is dampen the sound..

i think it is stock, the small pop and crackles that are heard are due to the cold temperature

Maybe it came with the truck when he bought it used? In that case to him it might seem stock, but it sounds like it's just old or a really cheap replacement.
