Part 2 of 2
On Saturday 19/01/2008, the Langebaan beach (on the West coast of Southern Africa) became a nest of what one can describe as a perfect organised chaos. The wind was blowing SSE, 20+ knots and climbing.
The kitesurfers were especially affected by the decision of putting the start on hold for 30 min, as the wind had suddenly picked up by at least 15+ knots and they were already using gear way bigger than they would normally use to kitesurf and windsurf in.
A record number of entries was recorded on 216, a total of 151 entrants completed the grueling course. The kite surfers dominated the scene with 158 kites and a total of 58 windsurfers took on the challenge.
