Sure, Walsh is a minor character in the world of rock, he's just so quintessentially midwestern, singing songs about indian summer etc -- I was thinking of a room in the rock gods museum containing homegrowns, local boys made good - but leaving out springsteen, his intensity gets annoying :)
Actually, I do like funk, new wave, fusion, prog, alt, acid rock, & various eclectic artists - but today I'll check out your suggestions, always glad to be turned on to new music - thx!
The Church "flat and passionless"?? haha You're my hero man. :-) You're definitely correct about taste. I'm less than 10 years younger than you by the way. Grew up with the Beatles and the Stones and a million other sixties and 70's bands to start off with. I actually like some of Joe Walsh's early stuff as well. He would just never some to mind to me as a musical icon, but thank God we're all different and don't all like the Church or Nils Lofgren. :)

I'll check out the artists you mentioned, to see what I'm missing -- but the Church? I found them kinda flat, passionless -- but no accounting for taste :)
Walsh has done some nice sweet heartfelt soft rock songs in his various solo albums, I rather like a lot of his stuff - not necessarily The Bomber or Life's Been Good so much -- but obviously you and I are from different eras, and not seeing it the same way -- no offense, it's a free country more or less
@SupernalOne and maybe omit Joe Walsh and Nils Lofgren and add The Bats and The Chills and The Go-Betweens and The Feelies, and Innocence Mission and Oh....The Church. Oh and a about 100 other artists more worthy than the two you mentioned. lol Seriously man...Joe Walsh?? Ugh.

Just love them.

the Smithsonian should have a Museum of American Music, containing sections on Joe Walsh, Nils Lofgren, and the Reivers (and dozens more)
