In this video I will be showing you how to customize GIMP's interface to look more like Photoshop.

I cannot show you docking. Here's a link to a animated picture that may help you further with understanding how to drag and drop docks in and how to dock them together.

  • Just seeing your username is GIMPtricks just makes me want to subscribe to you. I just found this video and its the first video i am seeing from you but i am definately subscribing and seeing the rest :) i always needed good tips and tricks to use GIMP more efficiently.

  • @OcarinaZombie Thanks.

  • @GIMPtricks Sorry to bother you again, but now the menu options appear behind the "Hint for" menus. For example, when I click "Edit" in the toolbar, the edit menu appears behind the "Toolbox" menu. I've been searching through the preferences, but no luck so far. Any suggestions? Thanks again.

  • @steveone4 Just keep the toolbox and the image windows next to each other, not on top of each other.

  • Great video. I use Mac and I was wondering if this only works in Windows because all of my elements are completely independent. Its not possible to keep the two side menus in the front. If I'm missing something, please tell me. Thanks.

  • @steveone4 It's best to keep the image windows just in between the two side panels. I'm not sure how it works on a mac, but go to edit ->preferences and set Windows management both to Utility window or if that doesn't work to Keep above.
