The CineFiles sit down to discuss three modern horror films. We open up with the long awaited adaptation of Stephen King's The Mist. Then onto Alien Vs Predator: Requiem and close with the vampire flick, 30 Days of Night.

  • @natewheatshelf:

Like Pop Rocks, if you watch our show in black & white WHILE drinking Coke, your stomach will explode.

  • Good show. Any chance you will upload the Evil Dead show?

  • @Hallinilla9 We'll have to retape that as we had technical difficulties with the tape. Have no fear though, we'll get to it.

  • this must be quite old if your referring to Quantum of Solace in the future tense. Good ep though.

  • @ParadoxProductions1 Not that old, but it's a show from a little while back. We're trying to upload a lot of the older episodes before we get to the new ones as we don't want to sit on them forever.

  • Thanks guys really enjoyed the upload. Has edwin made any leeway on the stooges documentary? Also I thought it was kind of funny that the sequel 'dark days' is a coming soon to dvd and blueray release.

  • @oldmanwhithers Still waiting on the results, but I'm hopeful that I'll win. I'll keep you posted and upload my thoughts on the show if I make it. Again, thanks for everyone who supported me.

  • I liked The Mist up until the stupid ending.

  • i think that the ending was great and it was done on purpose , darabont didnt wan any stupid mathafacka to make a sequel 5 years later.

  • I thought The Mist started quite bad. The writing was a bit tacky, the acting hammy, but slowly it became better. The ending is perfect and much better than the original story. One of the great endings of the last decade.

  • I would definitely agree with all of you about 30 Days of Night, except I think two stronger leads than Hartnett and George could have offset somed of the script issues.

  • By the way the outsiders are not all african american, just one is. The other african americans are from the town, but join in with the outsider to leave. Hmmmm I wonder why?

  • @abuganza >> It was more he didn't want to end as the novella ended, which was very ambigious.

  • The Mist ending was terrible in my opinion!

  • Frank Darabont was under major pressure from the studio to give it a happy ending and credit goes to him for sticking to his principals!!!

  • @cinefiles Fair enough, although I wouldn't exactly use the term admire in reference to anything about 'Requiem' including the gore/violence. But I am also an Alien fan for life and am with you in hoping the reboot will be cool. I'm not holding my breath though...

  • @maxpayne232 >> Yeah, I'll agree. But Darabont has done better jobs with those similar characters just by making them three dimensional. That's my biggest problem with Harden's part: just wayyyyy too one dimensional and I cheered when she died. Gay Harden's done better performances as well. But even so, outta all three, The Mist is the best one out of these picks.
